Rail City Tattoo Convention

The idea for Vermont’s first tattoo convention began with something deeply personal for Jhon Rodriguez.

Coming from Colombia, where he organized several community events known as Rayatones.

Jhon experienced first hand how powerful it is when tattoo artists gather without rivalry , just to share, learn, and support one another.

Those events left a mark on him and the dream of creating something similar in Vermont stayed alive for years.

What Jhon wished for was simple: a space where artists could connect, feel welcome and celebrate the craft without comparison or competition , a place where community came first.

In October 2023, that vision became real at St. Albans City Hall.

Artists, vendors, and visitors from across the country filled the space with creativity, warmth and genuine connection. For many, it felt less like a convention and more like a gathering of people who love the same art.

The event marked an important step for tattooing in Vermont , a beginning rooted in collaboration, not rivalry.

Plans for the next edition are already underway.
